Editorial Policies

1. Focus and Scope

The Magister-Journal of Educational Research (M-JER) is the official peer-reviewed publication of the Cebu Technological University Educational Research and Resource Center (CTU-ERRC). Published biannually, M-JER showcases original research articles and reviews in, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Educational management
  • Pedagogy and curriculum development
  • Innovative teaching and learning strategies
  • Digital transformation in education
  • Global and inclusive education practices
  • Educational psychology and assessment
  • Emerging trends in educational research

The journal aims to promote academic excellence and innovation in education by disseminating cutting-edge research to a global audience.

2. Open Access Agreement

M-JER is committed to open-access publishing. Upon publication, authors retain the copyright to their research articles while granting the institution permission to ensure broad accessibility. Under this agreement:

  • Articles are available for download, printing, reuse, archiving, and distribution.
  • Users must provide proper attribution to the authors as the original source of the work.

This policy ensures wide dissemination and maximizes the impact of published research.

3. Submission of Research Papers

Authors are required to follow the Author’s Guide in Preparing Manuscripts. Submissions must be original works and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

All manuscripts should be submitted via the M-JER's official website.

4. Plagiarism and Grammar Checking

All submissions undergo a comprehensive plagiarism and grammar review using Turnitin and Grammarly.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts adhere to the highest ethical and linguistic standards before submission.

5. Peer-Review Process

All manuscripts are subjected to a double-blind peer-review process involving at least two experts in the field. Key points of the process include:

  • The review process generally requires one to three months to complete.
  • Authors receive detailed comments, suggestions, and recommendations from reviewers.
  • Revised manuscripts should be submitted within 7 to 14 days to facilitate timely editorial processing. Authors may request an extension if needed.
  • Final decisions regarding acceptance or rejection are made by the editorial board.

6. Confidentiality & Privacy Statement

The journal is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and user data:

  • Editors and reviewers treat all manuscripts with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Personal information (e.g., names, email addresses) submitted to the journal site is used solely for the journal's stated purposes and will not be shared with third parties.

7. Publication Ethics

Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to uphold the highest standards of publication ethics, including but not limited to:

Authors:

  • Ensure proper attribution and authorship transparency (avoiding ghost or guest authorship).
  • Avoid dual submissions and manipulation of data or figures.
  • Disclose potential conflicts of interest.

 Reviewers and Editors:

  • Provide fair, unbiased assessments of manuscripts.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the review process.
  • Ensure compliance with journal policies and ethical guidelines.
